Precast/Prestressed Girder Help

Load Factors Tab (LRFD)

Click the Load Factors tab to modify or review the limit state factors. The program is released with default load factors; however, you can modify these values if desired. The figure shown below is the LRFD load factor tab.

You can select which limit states to include for analysis by selecting the Included check box. You must include at least one service and one strength limit state. For more information on limit state load factors, see Limit States, Table 3.4.1-1. If California is selected on the State specifications on the Project tab, the Fatigue I Limit State Live Load Factor is 1.75; otherwise it is 1.50. Selecting this option causes the Fatigue Live Load Truck to be considered for analysis, and precast concrete stresses under the 50%(PS+DL) + Fatigue_LL combination will be checked.

In LRFD the Fatigue 1 Limit State is automatically selected. The Fatigue Load, though not shown in the Live Loads selected for analysis, is considered automatically within the program whenever the Fatigue 1 Limit State is selected.
